BookLifeNow.com focuses on the publishing industry and all aspects of it: writing, editing, print, contracts, covers, release schedules, marketing, publicity, touring, anything and everything that goes into putting a book on the shelf and getting it into readers’ hands. This isn’t limited to any genre or field. Literary, science fiction, fantasy, children’s, fiction, non-fiction, any type of booklife experience is welcome.
What We Like To See: Open and honest discussions of experiences. Lessons learned and how-to guides. The essay you would give yourself if you could go back in time to before you entered publishing. Where possible, problem-solving and optimism are favored. Levity is appreciated, but not required.
What We Don’t Like To See: Screeds against specific people/organizations. Experiences discussed by proxy (we want to hear what you have to say, not what someone else has to say). Lists. Posts should be negative only when necessary (example of when necessary: discussing a small press going under and the difficulty of getting monies owed and rights reverted).
